Announcing the Hensby Workshop Residency 2027

I’m very happy to share that I’ve been awarded an Arts Council grant to run a creative development residency at the Hensby workshop next year.

This will bring together a small group of makers to develop new work, exploring how traditional making practices can facilitate and enrich contemporary design in wood. The programme will provide the time, facilities, funding and support for research, experimentation and making, with room to draw on, adapt and develop techniques and ways of working.

The residency is for practising makers with a developed body of work. Each maker will receive £2,000 towards their time and a separate £1,000 materials allowance, alongside dedicated workspace, technical and creative support, and an exhibition during London Craft Week 2027.

Applications open on 12th October and close on 9th November 2026. The programme details and application questions are available to read beforehand.

Please pass this on to a maker who might be interested.
