Curved Settee

The Curved Settee was developed from our spindleback seating for CARPENTE Architecture’s Surrey Manor project, in response to a brief shaped by the architecture of the entrance hall.

Made in walnut, its curved form responds to the surrounding architecture, with two individually carved seats facing different views through the entrance hall.

The seats are carved by hand, with prominent tooling marks retained as part of the finished surface. Each spindle is also individually shaped by hand, leaving crisp facets that emphasise the hand-carved nature of the piece.
