Spindle Back Lounge Chair

The Spindle Back Lounge Chair is a contemporary wooden lounge chair made using the traditional techniques of the Windsor chair-making tradition.

Every part of the chair is shaped by hand. The seat is deeply saddled to support the body, giving a level of comfort rarely associated with a wooden chair. The spindles are individually shaved and fitted so that the back has a degree of flex, while the structure remains strong, rigid and durable.

Although rooted in age-old chair-making methods, the form is deliberately contemporary. It carries a bold geometry, with a wide stance, low seat and generous spindle back that give the chair a strong architectural presence. The result is a chair that feels substantial without being heavy, combining the strength and intelligence of traditional chair making with the relaxed proportions of a modern lounge chair.
