The Nailed Collection
The Nailed Collection was developed with The New Craftsmaker as a collection of freestanding furniture exploring the expressive potential of traditional construction details.
The collection began with the use of hand-forged nails as a visible part of the design. Rather than being hidden or treated purely as fixings, the nails are brought to the surface of each piece, becoming both structural and decorative elements.
The collection includes a pantry, dresser, sideboard and desk, each developed around this shared language of exposed nails, simple forms and tactile detailing. Alongside the forged nails, the pieces incorporate riven timber handles, split from the tree to reveal the fibrous inner texture of the material. On the pantry, woven ash baskets add another element shaped by the direct working of natural materials.
